A Matter of clay è una tesi di ricerca che si concentra su nuovi possibili scenari espressivi del materiale ceramico. Partendo da un’indagine territoriale sul paese di Nove, nel vicentino, famoso sin dal 1400 per la lavorazione ceramica, la ricerca si è focalizzata sull’ibridazione della ceramica con alghe presenti nel fiume.

Attraverso la material experience e le modalità di lavoro propria del Designer in Lab, il loro utilizzo è avvenuto sia su ibridazione del materiale prima della cottura (su impasto) sia dopo la cottura (come finitura) aprendo nuove visioni ed espressività del materiale ceramico.

A Matter of clay is a research thesis on new possible expressive scenarios of the ceramic material. Starting from a territorial investigation on town of Nove, famous since 1400 for ceramic, the research focused on the hybridization of ceramic with algae.

Through the material experience and the methods of the Designer in the Lab, their use took place both before firing (on dough) and after firing (as a finish), opening up new visions and expressiveness of the ceramic material.
